BASF / EMTEC 526 Recording Tape 1" on 10 inch reel Used Once & Erased

Blank EMTEC / BASF 526 Recording Tape 1 Inch tape on 10 Inch Reel. These tapes were recorded on once in one recording session and then erased. They were originally purchased in the last decade as a new flat pack on a hub and loaded on empty reels that I had. Some are in Ampex boxes and some were put back in the original Emtec boxes. The Emtec box in the photos is for reference. You may get the tape in an Ampex box. The 526 tape is a flat response tape originally designed for making copies of original recordings. I used it to record rock & roll bands and was quite happy with the results. I’m sure there are conflicting opinions. Before first using them, I tested one with a signal generator and found they did indeed have a very flat response. I chose the 526 mainly because it is supposed to be immune to the sticky shed syndrome that Ampex tapes suffered from. I understood RMG tapes are the same Ampex formula also. These tapes performed perfectly. My older Ampex tapes had the sticky shed syndrome which is why I had the empty reels and boxes to put the 526 on. Some of the reels may be Ampex or Maxell branded, but all the tape on is actually Emtec 526. These tapes DO NOT suffer from sticky shed syndrome.
